Contour Demo (feat. special guest)

If you've made it back to my blog, I just wanted to personally say thank you for taking the time to read my content. I enjoy writing about the things I've learned within the beauty industry. It brings me some amount of joy and entertainment. Makeup isn't just about vanity (haha!) Makeup is also magic! Well... Not literally. Makeup is also used to create illusions, cover acne, hide problem areas or tired eyes, and can transform you into someone else entirely if you wish to use it for those purposes.

In my observations as a beauty sales advisor, the most common purposes for makeup tend to be for these reasons: Concealing imperfections, obtaining an even complexion, and illusion.

I'm mostly going to be addressing the last common purpose for makeup, which is creating an illusion. You create an illusion using cosmetics in many different ways. You can give yourself a winged-eyeliner look as a way to lift your eyes or make them appear larger, You can change the way you apply your blush to change the way your face looks, you can apply highlighter to the high points of your face to give yourself a subtle glow, and the list goes on....

In this blog, I'll be sharing with you a demonstration of contour and highlight/blush application that was designed to slim my client's face, bring warmth to her skin, and give her a soft glow. My client is a great friend of mine from hungrywithharley.blogspot.com.

Harley has a round face shape, so her contour is angled downward to cover the fullness of her cheeks, and give the illusion of a higher cheekbone. I applied blush right above her contour sweeping up towards her temples. I then applied highlighter to the high points of her face: The tip and bridge of her nose, the high points of her cheeks, on her brow bone, and on her Cupid's bow.

When applying the cream contour, its important to determine your face shape first. :

Please let me know what you think! And thank you for reading.

With love,

Kate
